FA announces inaugural Women’s Football Weekend in November

The FA is urging fans to attend a women’s match during their Women’s Football Weekend on November 16-17 at any given level of the pyramid.
Based on the Non-League Day notion that was effective, the weekend will be timed to match a pause from English Football League calendars and the Premier League and it’s estimated that this will develop into an annual event.
It will also build at the Women’s Super League, which saw the women’s game is watched by more than 62,000 fans during a second break for the global football of men.
A list 31,213 lovers saw the first Manchester derby at the WSL at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, although over 24,000 saw Chelsea carry on Spurs at Stamford Bridge, and similar amounts will be expected in November, having a north London derby at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a Merseyside derby along with Manchester United’s visit to Chelsea all on the program.
In a statement, the FA’s women’s professional match manager Kelly Simmons stated:”We’re excited to announce that the first ever Women’s Football Weekend, for what’s certain to be yet another wonderful moment in a year which has seen huge momentum behind the growth in popularity of women’s soccer.
”Following on in the Dramatic FIFA Women’s World Cup and opening Barclays FA Women’s Super League weekend, there has not been a better time to see your neighborhood team, and we invite all supporters to become involved in any way levels of the pyramid on November 16-17.”
One of the fixtures available from the Championship of the Women that weekend have been Crystal Palace vs London City Lionesses and Durham against London Bees, and there’ll also be a complete programme of cup and league matches further the women’s pyramid.
